Mostly Super Fun
We've loved Iron and Wine for years, but this one (Into the Magic) was good. The section during Moana went too long, especially at times. It's fun for the kids to see the characters, but I think it's fun to see more characters and tricks than longer sections of specific movies. Even I was losing interest. The skating part was good, but very tame. A couple things were great (like Rapunzel swinging from the curtain thing), but there were very few "tricks" on skates. That's actually OK, but I'd definitely shorten the "sections" of the movies.
Concert was okay.
"The concert was not what I expected. I am used to seeing Iron and Wine in small venues like Cedar Park in Austin when he does the 'in the round' setup. The performance is up close and personal when you have floor and level 1 seats as he sings at every corner of the stage. Seeing him in a big venue with the end stage setup is not worth the money and the time to have to see him up close on the big screens. But I still enjoyed being there live and hearing him sing his songs. You can't even take good pictures. And traffic to get in and out was a nightmare. Had I known that he was playing in Austin at the Frank Erwin Center prior to the Houston show tickets going on sale, I would have gone to see him there at the small arena instead and it's closer to home. I will never again see him in a big venue."
